Texas Everbearing with Leaves

The Texas everbearing fig is a hardy fast growing variety that matures into a large tree. The early (breba crop) appears prior to leaves in the spring, consequently may need to protect them on cool clear nights. Protection may be important when the air temperature is less than 40 degrees Fahrenheit since unprotected fruit can radiaation cool enough to damage fruit. Immature fruit is dark green and becomes tan with a rose tinge as it ripens. Pruning can affect the early crop, since the breba crop is produced on last season's growth and main crop on current season's growth. Fresh fruit has a mild flavor. We provide well developed plants which may be purchased bare root, or in 3 gallon containers. These are fast growing trees that are capable of producing some figs this year. These trees develop fruit parthenocarpically (without pollination) so more than one plant is not needed. However, if you are not familiar with growing figs it may be a good idea to purchase more than one plant to provide a comparison.

1 year on bare root $15.00

1 year 1 gallon container $20.00
